The Gilmore Car Museum is more than an attempt to resurrect the nostalgia of the first car you ever owned. The museum provides a place of solitude and reflection, as well as a historical experience. And its mere presence maintains the importance and worth of vintage automobiles. The automobile, more than any other artifact we preserve, is associated with much of American culture and has dominated the social and economic activity in the country since the turn of the twentieth century.
