As a nonprofit organization, Adventure Cycling Association’s mission is to inspire and empower people to travel by bicycle. Established in 1973 as Bikecentennial, we are the premier bicycle-travel organization in North America with more than 35 years of experience and 50,000 members.
The TransAmerica Trail is the reward for the travails of the Bikecentennial dreamers, the backbone of the nearly 45,000-mile route network it spawned in North America, and the “hard thing” that changes the trajectory of lives and can fulfill the dreams of anyone who loves to ride a bicycle.
