Here at Donning, we have so many excellent employees. We want to take you behind the scenes to show you the people who make an impact within the company. These are the people who make our company run. Some of them interact with our customers, while some work behind the scenes to make sure your project delivers according to plan. We’re lucky to have these people, and are sharing a little bit about them.

Katie Gardner is the first voice you’ll hear from Donning after you sign a contract. She will go over all your project’s specifications, understand your schedule, relay critical information, and introduce you to the editor who will handle your project. She has answered some questions for us about her role and life outside the company.

How long have you been with Donning?
April 30, 2007 – 12 years

Take us through some of the highlights of your job.
I am the Marketing and Production Coordinator. My job is to process and file all paperwork, work with our customers and answer their questions until they submit their manuscript, and coordinate the customer’s marketing campaign ideas.

Of the many things you do for the company, what are your favorites?
I enjoy getting to know our customers. I talk with them for years sometimes, and they always have interesting stories and they enjoy sharing it all with me.

What do you think sets Donning apart from our competitors?
Donning itself is a small company, we are owned by a much larger company, but because we are small, each customer gets personal attention that you would not get from a large company with a call center to answer questions.

Tell me about your life outside of Donning, tell me about your family?
I have been married to my husband, Chad, for 16 years. We have 3 children, 2 girls and a boy, and 3 grandchildren with one on the way.

What do you do for fun?
Most of my free time is spent following my teenage son’s sports, but when I am free, I like to bake. My parents recently bought an RV, so we have plans to travel with them, when we can.

What else should people know about you or Donning?
We have some of the most talented editors and designers anyone will find. They really work hard to make sure that each customer is happy with their finished book and it is what they envisioned. Everyone at Donning will go above and beyond whenever is needed to help our customers.
