Dedication
This book is dedicated to Charles E. “Ted” Shanks, Richard W. “Dick” Vaught, Mike Milonski, and Dr. Leigh Fredrickson. Shanks provided the vision for waterfowl management in Missouri; Milonski had the political savvy to complete early land acquisition and generate broad public support; Vaught guided early development of conservation areas and recruited qualified staff to manage them; and Fredrickson conducted research and trained professional biologists to ensure that science was the foundation for every decision.
