My Hope
My hope is that this book inspires those of you who want to stay in the fight against a cancer diagnosis, even if it is against all odds. There is always a chance that a cure will be found at any given second. As we know, for each one who has had to fight this devastating disease, no two cases are alike. Everyone will have his/her own individual case, own treatment options to select from, own obstacles and hurdles to climb over; but the battle remains the same: fighting to live, fighting for life, fighting for precious time, fighting for
a cure. This read is our documentation of our son’s personal battle against this devastating disease, his individual case, and our family’s involvement throughout his battle with relapsed medulloblastoma metastasis.
Dustin firmly believed in education; it is the basis for living. When he was diagnosed with cancer, it only enhanced his thirst for knowledge of the human body’s abilities. With today’s gifted physicians and technology – and above all, Dustin’s drive – we were blessed to have ten more years with our son. Throughout this book you will find that there are times of happiness and sorrow; victories and mistakes made. Dustin hoped that in my writing this book, his battle might give an insight to stay open minded – not to go “by the book.” In his opinion, no one is a textbook case; books are solely for reference when it comes to the human body. His battle was valiant.
